About Kirsten
At the heart of my writing is a love of sharing people’s stories and the transformations that come from them.
Kirsten Nixon is the author of Voices of Entrepreneurial Women, a collection of inspiring stories from emerging and established businesswomen.
As an avid reader and book lover Kirsten always dreamed of being a writer. During her family-raising years Kirsten was always writing. She wrote travel journals about the family’s epic road trip around Australia in a thirty-year-old, converted school bus (affectionately called Tar Baby).
Then it was writing marketing copy for her online store called Easygogadgets that sold products for adventure and leisure travelers.
When that business folded due to product supply issues, Kirsten turned her energy into writing a blog called ‘Teach me how to fly’ which followed her and her husband’s adventures to becoming recreational pilots and their love affair with a yellow airplane called Tweetybird.
Kirsten also created a monthly newsletter for the flying club, complete with regular pilot, student and instructor interviews, articles, and photos.
In 2020 Kirsten completed the ‘Write and Publish your Nonfiction book’, course by Lisa Adams, and finally began work on her first book.
Also a nurse and office manager, Kirsten and her husband Greg, dog Scruffy and three chickens live on the beautiful south coast of NSW. Their three son, partners and two grandchildren live not too far away.
