From Dream to Book — The Stories Behind ‘Voices of Entrepreneurial Women’
Last year I fulfilled a lifetime dream to write and publish a book.
Yay!
My book is called, Voices of Entrepreneurial Women: Inspiring Stories of Small Business Owners.
It showcases the real-life experiences of seventeen entrepreneurial women who run small businesses in manufacturing, retail, wellness, hospitality, and artistic/creative spaces.
The book was the result of my research into the process of book writing, small business, and publishing.
I began by asking businesswomen around me how they got started, and they were kind enough to let me interview them.
The women’s stories were so insightful that I decided to put them all in a book for the whole world to enjoy.
It was a delightful process because they shared wisdom and knowledge freely in such a heartfelt way.
As I listened, I noticed familiar threads of passion, courage, resilience, and persistence weaving through each unique story.
The *Voices* women encompass all those aspects of goal setting we’ve been exploring in this series:
1. Passion
They have a dream burning inside them and a love for what they do.
2. Courage / Curiosity
They plan road maps toward their vision or business goals, often into unknown territory.
3. Resilience / Persistence
Life throws them crazy-hard curve balls in the form of droughts, fires, and COVID.
They adjust. They are compassionate and kind. And they keep going.
“Maybe consistency is the magic bullet in all of this? ”
And here’s the truth — I never felt 100% ready to pursue my goals. I don’t think anyone does.
So what do you do?
You do it afraid.
You take the first step.
And then the next.
And the next one after that.
Maybe consistency is the magic bullet in all of this?
What do you think?
What’s one small step you could take today, even if you’re not quite ready?

Until next time,
